There are a number of great ways to join NMEF as we work to further the science, technology, engineering and math fields.

Sponsoring Scholarships

There are generally two ways to sponsor scholarships with NMEF, establish an endowment or annually fund a scholarship.

Endowed Scholarships
Contributors can make donations to the New Mexico Engineering Foundation in the form of an endowment. We will work with you to establish terms and conditions for your endowment. We then invest the money into a relatively stable and conservative investment fund where it will gain value through interest. Annual scholarships would then be paid for using available funds from your endowment. 

Pass-Through Scholarships
Contributors can make donations to the New Mexico Engineering Foundation in the form of an annual pass through scholarship. We will work with you to establish the scholarship requirements. After that you fund the scholarship on an annual basis.

Review and Selection
Anyone is welcome to join us as we review and select worthy students to receive scholarships. Both endowed and pass-through scholarship sponsors/donors are encouraged to join us in the review and selection of worthy students to award your scholarship. However, for many sponsors NMEF completely administers scholarships on their behalf.

Central NM Science and Engineering Research Challenge Award Review and Selection
Every year we rally a team of volunteers to review science fair presentations. We award worthy individuals and teams who demonstrate an effort to solve a problem by applying science, technology, engineering and/or math. 


Volunteer with Mathcounts
We strive to participate with Mathcounts in any way that we can.

Become a Board Member

Board members work together to organize and administer the programs and activities of the foundation.

Term of Service
Three years

Responsibilities

1. Join the team effort to organize and administer our annual scholarship program.
2. Participate in monthly one (1) hour or less board meeting either in person or via teleconference.
3. Willing to volunteer for and willingly accepts assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time.
4. Willing to accept leadership position(s) within the foundation (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary) for one (1) year.
